BROWNE v. THE QUEEN Supreme Court of Victoria (Full Court) HIGINBOTHAM, WILLIAMS, and HOLROYD, JJ. June 11, 14, 29 June 1886 Act No. 160, s. 27 — "The Public Service Act 1883," ss. 2, 76 — Public Service Board — Power to dispense with service of officer appointed under Act No. 160 — "Rights and privileges." .

Officers of the Civil Service appointed under the Act No. 160 are not affected by sec. 76 of "The Public Service Act 1883." The modes and causes for dismissing and dispensing with the services of such officers are still governed by sec. 27 of Act No. 160. [HIGINBOTHAM, J., dissentiente.]
